Coronavirus Omicron LIVE Updates | India saw a single-day rise of 1,41,986 new coronavirus cases, raising the tally to 3,53,68,372, which included 3,071 cases of Omicron variant reported across 27 states and union territories so far, the Union Health Ministry said on Saturday. Of the 3,071 cases of Omicron variant, 1,203 have recovered or migrated, according to the data updated

 

 

Covid-19 protocols, of wearing a mask and sanitising your hands, have become all the more important now.

While there’s a general consensus that an infection caused by Omicron is milder than Delta, some experts feel that symptoms of the new variant of concern are nothing to sneeze at.In recent days,more and more testimonies have piled up of people being diagnosed with mild Covid infection but still feeling like death. Even people who are fully vaccinated or have taken booster shots are susceptible.

Dr Shira Doron, an epidemiologist and infectious disease physician at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, says those with minor illness due to coronavirus can feel quite “uncomfortable” and may develop the dreaded “long Covid”, or when symptoms persist for months and may damage the vital organs.
