Chandrayaan-2 Launch LIVE Updates: India To Launch Ambitious Moon Mission Hours From Now

Chandrayaan-2 Launch Live Updates: Chandrayaan-2, the most waited project form the Indian Space Research Organization will be launched at 2:51 AM on Monday. President of India Ram Nath Kovind has arrived at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh to witness the live launch of the prestigious project on moon. The 3.8-tonne satellite will be taken to the moon on the top of 640-tonne GSLV Mk III, which was nicknamed as “Baahubali”. This is so far the India’s most powerful rocket.

The Chandrayaan-2 satellite will be heading to the south pole of the moon for a soft landing. It will take two months to complete 3.84 kilometers in the orbit. This mission will carry a 1.4-tonne lander Vikram which in turn will take the 27-kg rover Pragyan. These will be carried to a high plain between two craters on the lunar South Pole.

This will be a huge achievement for Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) if the mission is successful. The budget of Chandrayaan-2 is almost 20 times less than US space agency NASA. The mission’s success can place India along with USA, Russia and China to soft-land a spacecraft on the lunar surface.

Here are the LIVE updates on the Chandrayaan-2 launch:

Incidentally the budget of Chandrayaan-2 is less than popular Hollywood movies like Avengers Infinity War, Avengers Endgame etc.
