Karnataka Bengaluru news live: Positivity rate in Bengaluru hits 20% with single-day rise of 18,374 cases

Bangalore Active Covid-19 Cases Live, Bengaluru, Karnataka Omicron News Latest Updates, Bangalore Lockdown Today News, 14 January: The state now has over 1.15 lakh active Covid-19 cases. While the positivity rate for the day stood at 12.39 per cent, the case fatality rate (CFR) was 0.03 percent.

Bangalore Live News: Test positivity rate in Bengaluru has hit 20% as the city registered a single-day covid 19 case spike of 18,374 on Thursday. However, state Health Minister K Sudhakar said that the number of hospitalisations in the third wave so far is less than that recorded during the second wave of coronavirus infections. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has sought central assistance to raise the number of oxygenated beds and oxygen plants in the state.

This comes as the state recorded 25005 new cases of covid 19 and 8 fatalities on Thursday, taking the tally to 31,24,524 and the death toll to 38,397. Apart from over 18,000 infections, Bengaluru Urban saw 1,132 people being discharged and 3 deaths. The total number of active cases across the state is now 1,15,733. While the positivity rate for the day stood at 12.39 per cent, the case fatality rate was 0.03 per cent.
